AIRDS Working Group Meeting
"Standardization for International Collaboration in AI for Science"
AIRDS Members Only
November 26, 2026 (Thu), 10:30-12:00 @ TIME SHARING Kyobashi, Tokyo
This working group meeting is open to AIRDS members (corporate and individual) only.
In the field of AI for Science, momentum toward international research collaboration is growing, led by initiatives such as the Genesis Mission in the United States.
In particular, connecting automated experimentation systems and self-driving laboratories requires work toward standardization—including interconnection of laboratory instruments, description of experimental workflows, and technologies for integrated control and operation of systems (orchestration).
At this meeting, we will share trends in international collaboration and the status of discussions between Japan and the United States, and exchange views with researchers and companies on the issues Japan should address and the direction of standardization.
Building on the discussions of the Connectivity and Architecture Working Group, and touching on other working group themes such as workflow description and benchmarking, we will explore the future direction of AIRDS activities.
Main Discussion Topics (Tentative)
- Trends in international collaboration in AI for Science and the need for standardization
- Technical challenges such as interconnection of automated experimentation systems, workflow description, and orchestration
- Issues Japan should share and organize toward international collaboration, and future AIRDS initiatives
