3rd AIRDS Seminar

Global Trends in AI Robot-Driven Development and an Introduction to AIRDS's Initiatives

— Live from AI4X 2026 —

June 15, 2026 (Mon) 13:00-14:00

While the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "AI for Science" initiative, launched this fiscal year, is drawing attention, the use of AI to advance science is already underway in other countries. In Canada in particular, the Acceleration Consortium, led by institutions such as the University of Toronto, has held the Accelerate Conference each year since 2022 to discuss the acceleration of scientific research. This year, the fifth, it was held jointly with AI4X, a conference on applying AI to other fields, in Singapore on June 15-19.

In this event, Mr. Naruki Yoshikawa (who earned his degree under Prof. Aspuru-Guzik, Director of the Acceleration Consortium) and one of the organizers of the first-day tutorial at AI4X, reported live on the excitement of the opening day. In addition, Mr. Keisuke Nagato spoke on the current state of AI robot-driven science in Japan and the potential synergy between Japan's strength across all industrial domains and academia. In particular, including expectations toward JACI, one of the central industry bodies of Japan's materials sector, he discussed how to build momentum across an all-Japan effort going forward. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
